Want to be a part of helping to make the most of Aotearoa New Zealands' native and exotic forests' contribution to social, cultural, environmental, and economic wellbeing?
We're looking for a Senior User Experience Researcher to join our team. This role is focused on helping Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service understand one of our customer groups: nurserys who supply native tree seedlings.

**In this role you will**:

- Plan and run deep-dive qualitative research to understand the attitudes, motivations, values, concerns and needs of the nursery sector
- Help Te Uru Rākau teams understand the the nursery sector, and how to use that understanding to further government goals around increasing native afforestation
- Identify opportunities for Te Uru Rākau to support the nursery sector
- Test proposed initiatives and interventions with the nursery sector

Mōu - About You
You'll have solid experience working in qualitative customer research - looking below the surface to understand customers and their needs, analysing this and delivering insights to organisations.

**This experience will include**:

- Planning, running, and analysing qualitative customer research, including researching Māori and iwi, and conducting remote qualitatative research
- Developing personas/customer segments based on qualitative research
- Teaching people how to use customer personas/segments in their roles (for example front-line staff, designers, etc)
- Testing ideas and concepts with customers to assess whether they will meet their needs, and identify areas for improvement
- Analysing qualitative insights to identify opportunities to support customers

You'll be working in our Content & Service Design team - a passionate and diverse group of Content Designers and Service Designers, who are united in their desire to create customer-centric experiences that help people achieve their goals. The Content & Service Design team believe in active empathy, the power of the question ‘why?', and the importance of continuously learning.
Our team sits within Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service. Te Uru Rākau works to make the most of our native and exotic forests' contribution to Aotearoa New Zealand's social, cultural, environmental, and economic wellbeing. We work with tangata whenua, landowners, and the forestry and wood processing sector.
This role will be supporting our Native Afforestation Project - helping to improve native afforestation through improving the cost, production rates, and survivability of native tree seedlings.
