**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
Our central finance team are seeking a fixed-term Research Contracts Administrator to provide research contract support to our research and grant programmes across our faculties.

The role requires the ability to interpret contractual terms and conditions for the accurate set-up and maintenance of research project life cycle from activation, billing and project deliverables, variations, and project closure. It requires experience in proactively monitoring billing and project deliverable schedules to ensure revenue is maximised.

**Your responsibilities will involve**:

- Ensuring relevant contractual terms and conditions, budgets, deliverables and billing schedules are accurately extracted from contracts and captured into the respective systems
- Ensure all new project files created follow a comprehensive file structure and naming convention
- Ensure complex budget structures/multiple budget and funding sources are reflected accurately in the system
- Carry out reconciliation of actuals to budget and contractual terms ensuring allowable expenditure is being billed
- Proactively drive the project closure process and ensure projects are closed and reconciled within the agreed SLA, Funder requirements and UOA policies
- Identifying when contract deliverables have been met to enable billing
- Managing contract invoicing, credit notes and investigating anomalies

This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week), permanent role
Remuneration: $56,600 - $63,000 per annum dependent on experience.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

Your core focus will be ensuring the research contracts are set up in the various systems and managed accurately and efficiently in compliance with University polices and the terms and conditions of research contracts.

To be successful in the role you will ideally have:

- 3 - 4 years’ accumulative experience working with high volume financial transaction processes and systems.
- Strong financial administration skills including exposure to complex project, complex problem solving and contract administration.
- Experience in raising concerns and working with stakeholders to solve anomalies and errors.
- Exceptional administration skills, with exposure to research/project or contract administration.
- A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of data integrity and maintaining data in relational databases.
- A ‘people-person,’ with the interpersonal and relationship-building skills to enable you to deliver a first-class service to our stakeholders.
- You will be computer-literate, and an experienced user of the Microsoft Office suite.
