**The Roles**:
As a Senior Consents Monitoring Officer or Consents Monitoring Officer you will be responsible for assessing whether activities are complying with the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA).

Due to vacancies across the team we are currently looking for three people to join our innovative, dynamic and high achieving Consents Monitoring Team based in Palmerston North. We are looking for Senior Consents Monitoring Officers and Consents Monitoring Officers across the following fields of work:

- Industry Monitoring
- Forest Harvest and Earthworks Monitoring
- Civil Infrastructure Project Monitoring

To this end you will be responsible for assessing whether holders of resource consents are complying with their obligations, responding to pollution events and undertaking investigations in relation to alleged breaches of the Resource Management Act 1991 (RMA).

**About you**:
To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

- A tertiary qualification in environmental science and/or experience in environmental management of civil infrastructure projects or industrial facilities or forest management or engineering or experience in investigations.
- Experience in compliance monitoring of the RMA or other legislation.
- The ability to critically assess and analyse information.
- The ability to exercise judgement and initiative whilst working within a regulatory framework.
- Proven skills in the areas of project management, written and verbal communication and facilitation, experience or an understanding of working within Te ao Māori.
