As a solution to both a community challenge of a rising youth unemployment rate and an organisational challenge of building a sustainable talent pipeline, SkyCity created a bespoke youth employment pathways programme entitled Project Nikau. This programme aims to create a safe and caring environment for young people in their journey to sustainable full time employment, in partnership with our communities.

Due to an internal promotion, we now are seeking an experienced Youth Mentor who will be responsible for the mentoring of young people who are a part of Project Nikau employment project and will support the coordination of the project throughout SkyCity.

You will be responsible for engaging and providing support to the young people, whilst also facilitating connections with their Whānau and community groups. You'll offer one on one mentoring and provide support as needed, ensuring that young people are engaged and have a full understanding of their own capability and the expectations of their role, dependent on their needs

It is essential that you have experience in youth/community work, proven experience delivering a mentoring programme, experience working with different cultures and have a deep appreciation for and understanding of te ao Māori.
