exciting opportunity for you Te Whatu Ora, Waitaha are seeking a skilled
Neonatal Senior Medical Officer to join our dedicated team and contribute to
the well-being of our tiniest patients. We are open to flexible working
arrangement and this role can either be Full-Time or Part Time.

Mō te tūnga | About the role

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide

high-quality medical care to newborn infants in the neonatal unit, ensuring
optimal outcomes and adherence to established protocols.
- Perform
comprehensive assessments and diagnoses, develop treatment plans, and manage
the overall care of neonatal patients.
- Lead a team of
healthcare professionals, including junior doctors, nurses, and support staff,
fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
- Supervise and
mentor junior medical staff, providing guidance and promoting professional
development.
- Conduct regular
rounds, monitor patient progress, and make necessary adjustments to treatment
plans.
- Coordinate and
collaborate with other medical specialties to ensure integrated care for
complex cases.
- Stay updated with
the latest advancements in neonatology and actively participate in continuous
education and research activities.
- Demonstrate
excellent communication skills and maintain effective relationships with
patients, their families, and the healthcare team.Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills & Experience
- Relevant Medical

degree from a recognised institution, along with the ability to gain
registration with the New Zealand Medical Council.
- Extensive
experience in managing neonatal patients, including prematurity, respiratory
distress, infections, congenital abnormalities, and other related conditions.
- Excellent
clinical skills, including proficiency in various neonatal procedures and
techniques.
- Strong
interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and
communicate effectively with infants, parents, and colleagues.
- A commitment to
delivering compassionate care and maintaining the highest ethical standards.
- Willingness to
participate in on-call duties and work flexible hours as required.To find out more
