**Mō te tūnga - About the Role**

Based at Christchurch Hospital in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit supporting families from Kaikoura in the North to Timaru in the South, including the West Coast. Your focus will be with families who - ve had a premature baby, or a baby requiring additional medical attention at birth. This is an exciting role offering short
- and long-term Social Work support for all families with babies in the Neonatal Unit.

**Ko wai koe | About You**

This role focuses on the Neonatal ICU services. You will provide assessment, monitoring and support for families accessing this service. You will have a passion for working with babies and their whanau. You will be an effective team member working within multidisciplinary teams to achieve a high standard of patient care and positive health outcomes. You will have good connections with external agencies such as Oranga Tamariki, Work and Income and other community NGO - s.

Based in a busy neonatal ICU ward you will need to:

- be passionate about working with babies and their whanau
- be able to work under pressure, prioritising and managing your own workload while being an effective team member
- have excellent assessment and engagement skills
- have a good understanding of Care and Protection and Family harm
- be adaptable, able work in all areas of the hospital

- Experience within Care and Protection, Family Harm
- Understanding grief and loss
- An understanding of Trauma, is desirable but not essential
- The ability to speak Te Reo is desirable
- NZ Registration and Current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential
