**Position Summary**:
Provide a quality assurance inspection service for NZ Maintenance and stores receiving, including weld inspection and weld engineering guidance for static/pressure equipment, structures and infrastructure; and technical support to the organisation for all inspection and repair activities.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Actively participate in the Methanex condition assessment programme, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Contribute to achievement of safety, plant availability and reliability targets.
- Work in teams during projects and events.
- Assist in the development and implementation of inspection and asset management strategies.
- Planning, organising and communicating information and results of welding packages and inspections through written reports.
- Supervise contract inspectors including welding and NDT inspectors.
- Conduct and approve weld procedures and welder qualifications.
- Ensure statutory weld inspections are completed and certificates issued as per the asset management system to comply with all PECPR, HSNO regulations, codes and standards, and Methanex standards and procedures.
- Provide technical support and direction to the Maintenance Supervisors, Technicians, Engineers, Turnaround Team and other key stakeholders for weld repairs and maintenance, regulatory inspection and compliance matters.
- Maintain and update monitoring and reporting systems/programmes to ensure compliance with all Methanex quality management system requirements.
- Provide strategic and technical input into equipment Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), inspection activity work scopes and risk reviews.
- Perform a Quality Assurance role in project work, breakdown and turnaround events.
- Conduct material verification testing/receiving in accordance with Methanex procedures.
- Develop pressure equipment inspection skillset to support Methanex Inspection Body function and participate in meetings and audits as required.

**Position Qualifications**:
**Qualifications**
- Engineering or Science degree qualified, Trade Qualification or equivalent
- CBIP Certified Welding Inspector (CWI/SWI)

**Experience and Skills**
- Experience in the petrochemical, refining, processing or related industry
- Experience with Maintenance systems/programmes, procedures and practices
- Experience with quality assurance coordination and inspection of relevant discipline - welding, fabrication, coatings, insulation, materials handling.
- Understanding of NZ legislation, approved codes of practice, international codes and standards particularly AS/NZS and ASME
- Understanding of welding processes, consumables and non-destructive examination methods
- In-depth knowledge of weld PQR / WPS qualification and quality assurance/quality control
- Proficient with MS Office, sharepoint, relevant reporting software
- Health and Safety awareness specifically for hazardous tools such as portable XRF (radiation)
