Tyler Wren is working with a leading insurer to attract a Risk & Compliance manager who will help build out the Risk & Compliance programme within the first line and engage in the risk and compliance uplift programmes.

Support our clients' three lines of defence model, working closely with line 1 leaders and risk champions to facilitate the first line of defence's embedment and lead the line 2 assurance activities and control monitoring.

**About the role**:

- Build out, embed and maintain operational risk management and compliance frameworks that meet RBNZ, ASIC, GICOP and other requirements
- Provide risk assurance and oversight of key controls mitigating material risks
- Provide Line 2 quality assurance
- Provide advice, risk management guidance and assurance on the business units projects and product and services lifecycle change initiatives
- Proactive issue and incident management
- Facilitate operational risk and compliance forums within leadership teams
- Facilitate the development and continuous improvement of risk and compliance registers and mitigation plans
- Influencing senior business leaders to embrace and adopt a robust and open culture of operational risk and compliance management
- Developing training and risk awareness materials to uplift risk maturity
- Delivering timely, relevant and insightful reporting for executive risk governance forums, Management Risk Committee, ARC and SLT
- Keep informed of changes in legislation, policies and codes of practice which affect this role

**About you**:

- Tertiary qualified
- 5+ years experience in the insurance and financial services industry focusing on first-line monitoring, controls, operational risk, compliance and process engineering
- Demonstrated and proven leadership experience
- Strong experience in managing and evaluating risk: risk profiling, risk registers maintenance, KRIs, risk appetite reporting, risk and controls assessments/assurance
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience in areas of prudential supervision, the financial advisers act and other regulatory requirements
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and develop appropriate policies and procedures
- Sound knowledge of PCI DSS compliance requirements and processes
- Understanding of Privacy Risk
- Understanding of IT and Data Risk management
