**He angitūtanga: The opportunity**
There is an opportunity for an Enforcement Officer to join the Food Safety and Health Enforcement team. This role is responsible for promoting and protecting public health and improving the health, safety, and wellbeing of the public, through the investigation and resolution of complaints and enquires in relation to food safety and suitability; statutory health nuisances including housing, asbestos, and pests; hazardous substances including P-labs, Council bylaws including food grading; licensing and registration of food and health protection businesses; excessive and unreasonable noise under the Resource Management ACT 1991 and Auckland Unitary Plan; environmental and public health-related legislation. Auckland Council has separated its food compliance and food verification functions and so you would act as a Food Safety Officer and would not undertake verifications.

Your typical day in this role would involve investigating complaints, responding to enquiries/requests for assistance or advice, and determining the best corrective action or response that is required.

**He kōrero mōu: About you**
You will be working with members of the public and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, so we are looking for a team member who has a positive attitude, is self-motivated, and has excellent time management skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a wide range of customers from different backgrounds.

A current clean driver's licence is required for this role. You will also be required to be part of an on-call roster and need to be available to work after hours when required.
