Reporting to the Senior Communications Advisor, working from our centrally located Pōneke offices, the **Communications Advisor** will join the KiwiRail Communication team and provide external relations and communications leadership, advice and services to the Chief Executive and the wider organisation. You will be responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of external relations and communications activity and provide a range of services and support to the organisation.

**What you’ll do**
- Engage with stakeholders
- Develop collateral such as letters to residents and newsletter content
- Develop digital content for the website, intranet and social media
- Help organise and deliver community events

**What you’ll need**
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in communications, marketing or public relations
- Tertiary qualification in journalism, communications, marketing or a related discipline
- Strong written and communication skills
- Flexibility, enthusiasm and willingness to learn
- Relationship building and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to think and plan proactively
