This role does not come up often We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational therapist to join our Adult rehabilitation team as an Advanced Clinician Occupational Therapist. This role will be clinically based on ward 23 (neuro-rehab) ward at Middlemore Hospital.

This position is responsible for providing safe and effective patient and whaanau centred Occupational Therapy interventions for Stroke, other neurological conditions and Amputees within an interdisciplinary team setting. You will be working with a culturally diverse and complex client group.

This position will be clinically based on ward 23 (neuro-rehab) but will have influence across the neuro-rehab pathway. This includes ward 31 (Acute neuro) and Community stroke rehabilitation (CSR).

To be successful in this role, you should have highly specialist skills, advanced knowledge and Clinical expertise in the area of stroke & rehabilitation

You will be responisble for leading and co-ordinating high standards of clinical practice and service planning and development. You will provide clinical leadership within the team and across the stroke pathway (including the Acute Stroke Unit, Adult Rehabilitation Unit and Community Stroke Rehabilitation).

You will work along side managers and professional leaders to lead on setting standards, quality assurance and improvement and research activities relevant to the stroke pathway.

**Essential**:

- NZ Registered Occupational Therapist with a current practising certificate
- Minimum 6 years Occupational Therapy experience in a physical health setting with at least 4 years in the area of the specialty
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership within speciality area
- Experience in quality improvement, research and evaluation
- Experience supervising students and junior staff
- WMPM L1

**Desired**:

- Post graduate study/ working towards Master's degree or equivalent advanced practice
- Full, clean driver's licence
