**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

As a key member of the Reservoir Strategy team your focus will be to ensure long term sustainable management of the geothermal resources under our control while providing effective and efficient delivery of fuel to Contacts geothermal operations.

Some of the other activities you will be responsible for will include;
- Supporting the Geothermal Generation Business Leads and provide reservoir engineering insight to sustain the ongoing operation of our geothermal business.
- Seeking opportunities to provide technical leadership across the geothermal business.
- Maintaining the Reservoir Management Plan for the fields under your control and ensuring alignment across reservoir, steamfield and plant.
- Assisting in maintaining Contact’s licence to operate and enhance Contact’s reputation as a world class geothermal operator.

Initially you will be responsible for the either the Wairakei, Tauhara or Ohaaki geothermal field, but you may also be deployed across other fields in the future.

**Qualifications**

**Ko wai koe | About you**

You will have plenty of stories to share where your reservoir knowledge and engineering techniques have enhanced an organisation. This role requires quite a bit of coordinating between different stakeholders so you’ll need to have solid communication skills. It’s important you can clearly convey complex information to a variety of audiences. You will have an inquisitive, growth mindset and are comfortable dealing with ambiguity. If you enjoy piecing together jigsaw puzzles then this role should be your thing.

You’ll have a relevant degree in engineering, geoscience or equivalent qualifications and appropriate professional registration. Ideally we’d like to see around 5 years of experience in reservoir engineering,

Knowledge of reservoir engineering tools, in particular wellbore modelling and reservoir modelling software such as WellSim, Gudrun, Saphir, TOUGH2, Waiwera and Seequent Leapfrog would be welcomed. And great if you have experience using productivity tools such as Office 365 and data science, analysis and analytical tools such as Python, Excel and Matlab.

If you have worked in the geothermal energy sector great but if you are open to learning new skills we will consider people with an oil & gas background too.
