Company Description
**Te Tākinatanga - Our Story**

At Contact, we believe home is the most important place in the world. It's all part of our vision to leave Aotearoa better than we found it. We’re a power and broadband company, but we’re so much more than that. We are transforming the ways we mahi, and how Aotearoa is powered, leading the charge on renewable energy and digitising customer journeys in ways not yet seen here. A team of 1000+ from all walks of life who love what we do, look out for each other, and learn from one another every day, we’re stoked to be guided by our tikanga: we touch lives to make life better.

**Job Description**:
**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

We’re in growth mode at Contact, particularly when it comes to our geothermal generation portfolio. Due to an internal promotion, we are on the search for a Measurements Technician to join our Reservoir Operations and Assets team.

As a Measurements Technician, you will collect field measurements and chemistry samples associated with Contact’s geothermal resource operations, while also analysing these samples in the laboratory and processing the data. The information collected enables us to understand and optimise our various geothermal fields while also ensuring we meet our consent requirements.

You will have the opportunity to work within a world class multidisciplinary subsurface team that executes our day-to-day subsurface operations, maintain our license to operate and manage our associated assets.

Below is a snap shot of some of the main tasks you’ll be doing;
- Carry out various physical well and field measurements (e.g., output tests, groundwater levels, tracer flow tests etc) associated with Contact’s geothermal resource operations.
- Collect chemistry samples from Contact’s geothermal fields and associated assets.
- Install and manage data logging systems, including analysis of the data.
- Lead project work and develop new capabilities for the team.
- Analyse field samples in the laboratory and process the data we collect.
- Contribute to compliance reports.
- Maintain and calibrate our lab and field equipment.

This permanent, full-time role is Taupo based and reports into the Measurements Supervisor.

**Qualifications**:
**Ko wai koe - About you**

A large part of this job is based outside so it’s important you like being in the outdoors and are physically fit.

This role is multifaceted, supporting and connecting with a bunch of different stakeholders, inside and outside the organisation. Internally you’ll work with our Steamfield and Operations teams, project and engineering teams whilst external stakeholders may include contractors, neighbours and landowners. We’re looking for someone who has strong interpersonal and relationship management skills and prides themselves in building successful connections.

Your strong communications skills, ability to deal with ambiguity and take ownership of your work will ensure you are a good fit for our team environment. We’ll also appreciate the integrity and professional work ethic you will bring to the team.

Your ability to bring your mix of field, laboratory and commercial skills along with high regard to safe working practices to ensure the safe and reliable operation of Contact’s Geothermal Plant will see you in good stead.

If you have experience in trades, chemistry, plant maintenance, environmental sampling and data logging or lab work, we want to hear from you. Any energy, electricity or utilities industry knowledge, and we’d be even more impressed.

Additional Information

There are a bunch of perks to being a permanent Contact kaimahi (employee). Along with great leadership, teammates, development, and growth and progression opportunities, you’ll enjoy flexible working, free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, discounts on Contact Energy products, and more.
