**About the role**

Are you passionate about helping people achieve their full potential? Do you have the skills and experience to support rangatahi who are transitioning from care or youth justice to independence? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

We are looking for a Coach - Youth Services to join our dedicated team. You will work in partnership with Oranga Tamariki (OT) Ministry for Children and other agencies to provide holistic and culturally responsive support to eligible rangatahi aged 15-21.

This role requires you to work within the standards of Oranga Tamariki and the values-driven service delivery of Te Wānanga O Aotearoa.

As a Coach - Youth Services, you will:

- Respond to referrals of rangatahi to the service, by Oranga Tamariki Social Workers.
- Support rangatahi to actively participate in assessment and planning processes.
- Respond to referrals of rangatahi to the service by Oranga Tamariki (OT) social workers.
- Support rangatahi to actively participate in assessment and planning processes.
- Support rangatahi to access and engage with appropriate services and development opportunities to help them overcome barriers to reaching adult independence.
- Assist rangatahi to build, strengthen and maintain connections with whanau, hapū iwi and a broader network of supportive adults.
- Provide practical, emotional, mentor support and skill development to rangatahi as per transition plans.
- Meet the reporting requirements of Oranga Tamariki and TWoA.

**About you**
We are looking for a compassionate, culturally competent, and motivated individual who has a genuine passion for supporting rangatahi to achieve their goals and aspirations.

You will also bring with you:

- A Bachelor Degree in Social Work or Youth Work
- Current professional body registration (SWRB NZ)
- 4+ years’ experience in social work, youth services or a similar type role
- 4+ years’ experience working with Māori or Pasifika
- Proven experience providing transitional and social services to rangatahi
- A full NZ Drivers Licence This position is classed as a Core Worker and will need to pass a safety check, inclusive of a Police Vetting under the Children’s Act 2014 and a Cyrus Check (OT).

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) is desirable.
