**Who we are looking for - Compliance Officer Building Act**
**(Fencing of residential swimming pools) - fixed-term, 1 year**
We're looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our Building Act compliance team.
Working within a team of highly-skilled professionals, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the community.
You'll use your knowledge and experience to inspect residential swimming pool fencing and to engage with customers to provide consistent, high quality technical advice on residential swimming pool fencing.
This role has been created to ensure that the Council fulfils its requirements to inspect residential pool fencing as required under the Building Act 2004.
**You will have**
- At last 3 years compliance or enforcement experience
- A thorough knowledge of the NZ Building Code and Building Act 2004 as applicable to residential swimming pool fencing
- Knowledge of legal processes and legislation including the Summary Proceedings Act
- Adaptability to a constantly changing work environment
- Sound judgement that demonstrates fair and just outcomes
- Sound computer skills
- A current driver's licence
- NZ residency or a valid NZ work permit
**Experience**
- A thorough knowledge of the NZ Building Code and Building Act 2004
- Knowledge of legal processes and legislation including the Summary Proceedings Act
