Ko tōu ake mahi - What You'll Do
Your portfolio of work will reflect your strengths - we have some flexibility since demand for economic advice always outstrips supply. You will flourish in an environment where your portfolio is varied, and includes the usual business of a public sector organisation (e.g. OIAs), as well as responsive advice on particular issues (e.g. on ways of measuring health sector inflation), and proactive analytical work (e.g. on the economic impact of the health and disability system).
You will also have a commitment to analytical excellence. This is not a research position, nonetheless we do some empirical work to inform projects. If this is your passion and you have advanced analytical skills, e.g. in applied econometrics, we can support this by building it into your portfolio of work.

Ko ngā pukenga ōu - What You'll Bring
- A tertiary qualification with a strong economics major
- Preferably have experience of working in a large organisation with the usual corporate reporting processes.
- A passion for building understanding about economics, and influencing non-economists
- Strong analytical skills and a keen interest in keeping abreast of economic evidence and methods
- The ability to work quickly and give real-time advice to decision makers, even with only partial information
