NZGP is a branch within The Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). We have a vision for New Zealand’s government procurement to be fair, transparent, inclusive, and efficient. It will deliver more value and respond to changing government priorities.

While we live and breathe procurement, our branch is a support function to those doing the mahi in the procurement system - government agencies and the suppliers and providers they work with. We are less of a procurement shop than a shop filled with data, systems, communications, contract and project management people who love procurement. And yes, we have some procurement specialists

**Skills and Experience Required**

› Has the ability to meaningfully engage with the market and agencies.
› Goes without saying you will have political nous, sound judgement, understanding of government procurement trends and the importance of trade to the New Zealand economy.
› Proven extensive experience and genuine expertise in any of Commercial Strategy/Planning/Management, Procurement, Construction, Property, ICT or Health (including disability and social services).
› In-depth understanding of procurement principles and processes in area of specialism and understanding of te ao Māori would be an advantage.
› Sound experience and a natural ability to coach, mentor, and develop staff to meet the needs of MBIE now and in the future.
› You will proactively establish and maintains strong working relationships with government agencies, including senior management, project teams and public sector leaders and groups.
› Proven experience to plan and structure commercial projects and work programmes.
