Starship Child Health is a dedicated paediatric healthcare service and major teaching centre, providing family centred care to neonates, children and young people throughout New Zealand and the South Pacific. Starship is a part of Te Toka Tumai | Auckland DHB and is the only comprehensive children’s hospital in New Zealand serving a population of approximately 1 million children.

The Neonatal Homecare Service attend to concerns and provides practical advice on feeding, routines, care of the small baby and assessment of growth and development to some babies and their families in the home following baby’s discharge from Starship Newborn Services.

**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

An opportunity has come up for an enthusiastic and innovative nurse to join a dynamic nursing team in a full-time, fixed term capacity as a Clinical Charge Nurse. The purpose of this position is to provide clinical expertise and leadership for the Neonatal Homecare team and coordinate discharge planning from hospital to home. This position manage the day to day requirements of the Neonatal Homecare service delivery ensuring that delivery contributes to a better patient experience and health outcomes and is in line with organisational requirements.

The CCN Homecare position is based in the Newborn Service at Starship Child Health. The role work collaboratively with CCNs in NICU, Clinical Midwife Specialist in Whitinga Ora Pēpi and Charge Midwives to coordinate discharge from hospital to home for babies who require neonatal nursing care.

To be successful in this role you will
- Have NZ Nursing Council registration with a current Annual Practising Licence
- Have expert clinical practice
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience post registration in relevant nursing specialty
- Have obtained the appropriate post-graduate qualification
- Be working towards completion of Masters Degree
- Have a strong commitment to leading professional development, quality care and whānau centred nursing
