**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

We are seeking a Mental Health & Wellbeing Service Manager (internally known as Poutaki Te Papa Manaaki | Manager Campus Care) to play a pivotal role in creating a safe, inclusive and equitable environment at the University of Auckland.

You will be responsible for a portfolio of both clinical and non-clinical services and guide your Team Leaders as they manage the day-to-day operations of their teams.

You will lead the development and delivery of programmes that improve personal well-being and safety matters for all students and make it easier for staff to connect students to appropriate services. These programmes aim to identify students needing support earlier, to get the right support to students at the right time, and to prevent more serious matters from occurring.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:

- Overall leadership of the services within the portfolio to ensure efficient practice and a culture of service improvement and clinical safety of staff members, services and processes.
- Lead Te Papa Manaaki | Campus Care case managers in the delivery of their role, including making provisions for clinical oversight and advice, and regular clinical supervision.
- Lead development and delivery of key projects, campaigns, and initiatives focused on new and improved service delivery to students and the University.
- Manage the coordination risk assessment and management of complex, serious incidents and cases with various internal stakeholders to de-escalate, contain or resolve matters.
- Work with Campus Life and central communications and marketing to effectively communicate and promote the services to student and staff audiences.
- You will play a key role in developing and reviewing policy and procedures and make recommendations for improvements based on the experience of utilising policy and procedures in the delivery of these functions.

**He kōrero mōu | About you**

This is an ideal role for a person who has had a career in mental health or social work with an established track record of managing teams whilst being responsible for the delivery and standards of a service. You will take on a leadership role within a central division focusing on our students’ well-being. You must be comfortable working in a busy environment with various stakeholders. This role will require a process-driven and continuous improvement approach to ensure consistency and the best possible service.

You will directly manage two Campus Care Team Leaders and be responsible for a wider team of Case Managers and Student Conduct and Care Advisors.

**Essential Qualifications**:
To be considered for this role, you must have a current registration under the **Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act** or the **Social Workers Registration Act**.

- Degree-level qualification in psychology, social work, mental health nursing or other relevant clinical qualifications and appropriate registrations.
- Experience of leading a clinical service and supporting a team of registered clinical professionals.
- Senior supervisory or team management experience.
- Experience working in mental health or other relevant roles involving assessment and case management of clients.
- Relevant experience in a large, complex organisation in a multifaceted role with a variety of stakeholders.
