Are you passionate about mental health and dedicated to making a difference in the lives of older adults? The Koropiko Team is excited to welcome a committed Mental Health Occupational Therapist to our vibrant team. Koropiko is a vital part of MHSOP (Mental Health Services for Older People), providing comprehensive community and inpatient mental health services for those aged 65 and older.

- We have a multidisciplinary approach to working with older people and their whanau.
- Our multidisciplinary team focuses on assessing and treating clients with functional disorders and dementia-related symptoms within the Counties Manukau area.

- There is always variety of presentations to clinical practice in terms of mental and physical health to consider with older people
- There is a mix of occupational therapy clinical practice and generic mental health tasks that require a good understanding of both
- We always place healthy people and healthy whanau at the centre of our service

**Your role**

**As a Mental Health Occupational Therapist, you will**:

- Be a part of the community-based team with links to the inpatient unit occupational therapist
- Deliver specialist occupational therapy services to enhance the wellbeing and recovery of our clients.
- Understand the physical health of older people that is related to mental health concerns plus vice versa
- The opportunity is available to order basic equipment under the guidance of an experienced occupational therapist
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to address occupational performance issues.
- Promote the health and wellbeing of service users through meaningful activities and community inclusion.
- Empower clients by improving their sense of purpose, belonging, and ability to organize their time effectively

**Essential requirements**
- New Zealand Registration with the Occupational Therapy Board or eligibility for registration.
- Current annual practicing certificate.
