- The New Zealand Customs Service (Customs) is responsible for facilitating the legitimate movement of people and goods across the border, supporting trade, managing border risks and collecting customs and excise revenue on behalf of the Crown._

We have two exciting opportunities on offer for a Policy Analyst to join the International and Engagement Group within the International and Governance Group. As an analyst, you will be responsible for the engagement with countries within a specific geographic region, or international organisation. Working closely with our offshore Counsellors, you will have a particular focus on developing and maintaining relationships with key agencies in that region.

- An ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines

This is an opportunity to start in the International Engagement team and work in other areas of Customs.

**To be eligible to apply**

To join Customs in any role you must be a **New Zealand citizen** or **New Zealand permanent resident** and for this role, be able to obtain and maintain an Organisational Security clearance along with being able to obtain and maintain security clearance to **'Top Secret'** level.

**OR**

You must have a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service towards a recommendation of suitability for security clearance at a higher level.
