**Job Title: Team Leader Theatre - Gynaecology & General**
**Location: Christchurch**
**Hours: Monday to Friday between 7 am-8 pm shifts**

- Our client is one of Christchurch's leading state-of-the-art surgical hospitals. Known for its innovation, they are looking for a Team Leader for their Gynaecology, Urology, General, and Endoscopy surgery specialties with a minimum of 5 years operating theatre experience across minor day-stay and major surgery.
- Reporting to the Theatre Services Manager, this is a.08 FTE position and will have support from a Speciality Resource Nurse.
- You will work closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide excellent quality care to patients for day and short-stay procedures including gynecology, Urology, Endoscopy and general surgical procedures.
- They have four operating theatres, a spacious 12 bed recovery, two day-stay lounges and a 22-bed ward to accommodate overnight patients.
- You will be responsible for providing safe clinical practice and supervision to the theatre team as well as ensuring the specialties are well supported and operate in a seamless manner. You will be working alongside your team providing expert clinical skills in the operating theatre and will be responsible for supporting and developing their skills and knowledge further.**Skills & Experience**
Aside from being an exceptional theatre nurse, they think there are other important skills you need to have, these include:
- Comprehensive experience in Gynaecology, Urology, General and Endoscopy surgery.
- Min 5 years Theatre Experience
- Experience in a Team Leader role or evidence of managing a team.
- Evidence of being a person that leads by example.
- Effective problem-solving skills.
- Resilience and well-developed communication skills.
- Positive outlook and passionate about helping grow your team
- A flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change.
- Excellent organisation skills.
- The hours of operating are very focused on work-life balance and this position is for rostered shifts which are typically Monday to Friday between 0700 to 2000 hours.
They also have an annual hospital closedown so you are guaranteed to have a Christmas and New Year break**To be successful, you will have**:
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand
- Broad experience across all surgical specialties
- Registered Nurse ideally with a minimum of 5 years Theatre experience both within minor day stay and major surgery.
- Broad experience across all surgical specialties
