The Operating Theatres at Christchurch Health Campus are looking for people wanting to work in a fast-paced, rewarding career where if you bring motivation, energy, initiative and a desire to learn with on-the-job training you need to fulfil this role.
As an Operating Theatre Assistant (OTA), you'll be working cooperatively with team members and staff to assist all areas of the Operating Theatre Department.
Duties and responsibilities: Transporting and transferring patients.Collecting equipment for surgical procedures across all specialties from paediatrics to neurosurgery.Setting up and cleaning theatres.Managing linen and supplies.Salary starting from $60,100 to $70,358 per annum, based on the NZNO Nursing and Midwifery collective agreement.
About You We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who is able to bring their passion to the Operating Theatre Department.
Full training will be provided to all new staff joining our team.
Skills and Experience A high level of fitness – pushing beds, trolleys and walking up to 15 kms per day.Previous experience as an Operating Theatre Assistant preferred.Reliable with excellent time management.Discretion and confidentiality coupled with a strong work ethic.Motivated and flexible self-starter with the ability to work both in a team and autonomously.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work efficiently and effectively.Good computer skills.Ongoing training and development.Health New Zealand employee benefits.Close to public transport.Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
