**About The Role**:
This person will also contribute to the overall strategy of the Valocity Data team, providing input into continuous improvement, value optimisation and opportunity identification and quantification.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Help design, implement, and manage Valocity’s core geospatial databases and systems adopting agreed architectures and technologies. Simultaneously improving the understanding, useability, and resultant data quality.
- Stay up to date with the latest GIS technologies, tools, and industry best practices, and recommend their implementation to enhance our GIS capabilities.
- Assist with the ongoing program of modernization work. Reimplement legacy assets onto the target state technology stack, rather than simply migrating them.
- Assist in developing an internal reference repository of knowledge in the form of a Wiki related to GIS systems, processes, and workflows that is accessible and useable by a wider stakeholder group including Product and Development teams.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify GIS requirements and translate them into technical solutions. And work with cross-functional teams to help integrate GIS with other internal systems and platforms.
- Conduct quality assurance and control procedures on geospatial data, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Participate in GIS data acquisition and integration efforts, including data acquisition, digitization, georeferencing, and data conversion.

**Key Requirements**:

- Minimum 5 years accumulated experience in GIS development, implementation, and management
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in GIS software and tools, such as GeoServer, CARTO, or similar
- Familiarity with web mapping technologies, such as Google Maps, Mapbox, Leaflet
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python and SQL
- Knowledge of geospatial databases, spatial data modelling, and data management techniques
- Experience with spatial analysis and geoprocessing
- Understanding of cartographic principles and map design
- Good understanding of Azure Data Platform Solutions including but not limited to Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory
