This is an exciting opportunity to join the People & Wellbeing team within the Central Agencies Shared Service. The role requires extensive engagement with people leaders to understand their areas of the organisation, their strategic objectives and to identify and resolve their strategic people risks. This role supports the development and delivery of HR service, policy, practice and strategy.
This position acts as the senior internal HR consultant, ensuring delivery of the HR services within a relationship/account management model to support their assigned business groups, establishing a proactive and agile partnering relationship between the agency and HR. The HR Business Partner works collaboratively with their HR Manager, HR Advisors and members of the wider HR team to deliver services. The role will provide backup and additional support to other customer groups as required and collectively deliver services and implement projects.

The client group for this role will be the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC). This role sits within the People & Wellbeing team and the team supports the needs of DPMC in a portfolio arrangement.

**DPMC has nine business units**: Cabinet Office, Child Wellbeing and Child Poverty Reduction Group, Government House, National Security Group, Policy Advisory Group, Strategy, Governance and Engagement, Cyclone Recovery Unit, the Implementation Unit and the RCOI Response Covid-19. DPMC is also the host of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
As one of the three central agencies (which also includes Te Kawa Mataaho - Public Service Commission and Treasury), DPMC also plays a leadership and coordination role for other public sector agencies.
Ko wai koe | About you
- Previous experience in a senior Human Resources role including partnering with business groups to deliver strategic HR solutions
- Extensive experience in the provision of operational human resources processes and systems - ideally with a government agency
- In-depth experience of management issues (people, resources, systems and processes)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Highly effective planning and organisational skills, including time management and prioritising work in a complex work environment
- Ability to meet the criteria required to hold a NZ Government security clearance.
