We are looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join the team in Auckland.

**The Role**:
**The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for the following**:

- Develop civil schemes at the concepts stage
- Develop detailed civil schemes for pricing, tendering, building-consent and construction purposes.
- Be part of the civil design team to assist lead engineers deliver design documentation on time and on budget for various building/infrastructure projects.
- Monitor and co-ordinate construction work, including the review of shop drawings, and co-ordinate with other design professionals and contractors.
- Monitor changes to designs, assess the effects on costs and negotiate variations to designs.
- Develop and deliver civil design/analysis and design outputs/deliverables.
- Assist the Civil Engineering Manager, and other seniors, to undertake: Client representation, QA of designs, Civil project management, Business planning, Auckland based civil engineering related activities, Other design-team duties.
- Deliver civil design and project delivery including: Civil design for commercial building developments, Civil design for land development/subdivision projects, Civil design for infrastructure/roading projects, bulk earthworks and three waters design, Development to deliver a broader capability for multi-disciplinary civil engineering services in due course.
- Development of contacts with local contractors, developers, architects, other to promote design review services for projects.

**Qualification, Skills & Personal Attributes Required**:

- A degree based professional qualification in civil engineering
- 10 years minimum post graduate experience in residential, commercial and/or industrial projects in New Zealand.
- A working knowledge of the NZ Building Act and all relevant civil design codes and practices
- Excellent Relationship building skills
- Technically capable
- Good communication skills - verbally and writing.
- An ability to prioritise, manage workflows and work independently with minimum supervision.
- Leadership Skills
