Hill Laboratories is a leading provider of analytical laboratory services in New Zealand. We are in the middle of a significant digital transformation programme. This programme will help streamline our operations and open the business to new opportunities. To do this, we'll be further investing in our development teams. We currently have three development teams, all based in Hamilton. We want you to lead one of those teams.

As a Software Development Manager, we’ll be looking to you to steer some of our projects forward. You’ll need to be comfortable working collaboratively, as we want you and your team to own their destiny. In this challenging yet gratifying role, you’ll have the opportunity to make your mark on the business by helping us improve our processes and shape the way we interact with our customers.
**The Role**
- Be an experienced servant leader who can understand the technical challenges your team faces, and remove blockers for them. To do this, you must be deeply familiar with Agile and DevOps.
- Lead and foster a growing team of developers.
- Be able to contribute to the overall software architecture, ensuring that cloud technologies are used where appropriate.
- Be accountable for projects and their successful delivery.
- Interface with Business Analysts and other development teams, fostering collaboration.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders in an inclusive manner.
- Report on progress, risks and opportunities to the CIO.
**About You**
- You have an excellent knowledge of building great working software; you’ll understand the myriad of factors that affect a successful software project. You have experience in leading a development team using agile methodologies.
A thorough understanding of agile software development gained from extensive practical experience
- 3+ years’ experience in C# gained via hands-on use
- A passion for “working through others,” i.e. enabling high performance for those in your team.
- Excellent communication skills and a desire to connect with stakeholders in the broader business and other professionals in the industry
- You’ll either have had experience in managing a development team or be a development lead with exposure to complex projects and be looking to take the next step.
- Excellent spoken and written English
