About the role:

- We are looking for a team player to strengthen and grow our Electrical Discipline in Wellington.
- Coordinate the Electrical design process with Project Managers, Project Technical Leads and other project team members and disciplines during proposals, initial and detailed design activities
- Plan, program and coordinate the specific projects, as lead Electrical practitioner to deliver the agreed outputs on budget, on time and to quality standards for internal review by a Senior Engineer
- Lead, develop and mentor junior staff
- Conduct site visits, field investigations and feasibility studies for proposed projects
- Produce calculations, specifications and drawings to ensure that technical design will provide the appropriate solution and work effectively with other design disciplines, local and global, to deliver multidisciplinary projects
- Coordinate with deliverables of the other disciplines.
- Maintain communication and develop ongoing contacts with internal and external clients as required
- Contribute to proposal and bid development to support business development activities, including preparing proposal material as required
- You will have proven experience in leading diverse teams and managing team delivery.
- An understanding and experience with M.V. and L.V. Power systems and design
- You will have competencies in 1 or more niche Engineering areas that you can promote, maintain and contribute to our technical capability.
- You will enjoy working as a team, communicate well with others and have the ability to influence others drawing on your strong communication skills.
- You will understand the tools, including the benefits and limitations for design including CAD and modelling software.
- You will be experienced dealing with a range of clients and stakeholders including local authorities, government bodies and commercial companies.
- You will have strong client facing skills developed from your previous experience.
- In this exciting position, your own self-management skills will be as important as your technical and project management ones. You will need to be able to prioritize workloads whilst maintaining strong and trusting working relationships with our clients’ and colleague's both locally and across the broader Stantec team.
- You will be able to work with remote teams to deliver projects to local clients.
- Key requirements are a Electrical certificate, diploma or BTech plus a minimum of 7 years professional experience in the consulting or engineering industry.
