**2x Medical Laboratory Technicians/ Trainees - Biochemistry**

**Permanent Full-Time (80 hours per fortnight)**

Wellington SCL provides high-quality diagnostic pathology services to the community, healthcare professionals and their patients. Wellington SCL is owned by APHG NZ Ltd, a healthcare company committed to providing facilities and services that deliver exceptional care to its clients.

Our Biochemistry department is currently on the hunt for 2 dedicated, enthusiastic and competent Medical Laboratory Technicians/ Trainees to work full-time (80 hours per fortnight) based at Wellington Hospital, including evening shifts. Please note, these shifts attract penal rates.

To succeed in this role you will need the following:_**
- Registered Technician with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand, or working towards registration would be an advantage
- A sound knowledge of laboratory operations including; safety, operation of equipment and hands-on practical experience with a preference given for Biochemistry experience is desirable_; but not essential_
- Strong problem-solving skills
- The ability to work in a methodical manner adhering to strict quality procedure guidelines
- The ability to follow procedures and instructions
- A team focus with initiative, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and possess the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Excellent attention to detail with good record-keeping skills

Flexibility in working shifts across the 24/7 roster in order to meet the service needs, will be required, as will be a customer focus and commitment to provide an excellent service to the greater community.

We will provide you with 2-3 months paid training. The starting rate for this position is $22.50, remuneration will be based on your skills, experience and qualifications. If you are not already registered with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand, we will support you working towards becoming a Qualified Medical Laboratory Technician.
