**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**

The University’s Alumni Relations and Development Office is seeking to appoint a **Fundraising** **Manager **(known internally as Development Manager) to partner with our Engineering Faculty. We regularly attract six and seven figure gifts and play a major role in advancing technology in New Zealand. We are seeking someone who is comfortable working in a responsive and lively environment with varied days and responsibilities.

The position's main purpose is to raise philanthropic funds for our Engineering Faculty through the effective development and implementation of a coordinated and integrated Fundraising Development Plan.

**Some key responsibilities include**:
**Fundraising**:

- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual prospects and corporate partnerships capable of giving significant gifts.

**Internal Relationship Management** - Demonstrate a high level of interpersonal skills through relationship management, advocacy and negotiation. You will work closely in partnership with our Dean, senior leaders and the ARD team to deliver a coordinated approach.

**External Relationship Management -** Ensure major donors, both individuals and corporates, are recipients of a highly effective programme of acknowledgement, recognition, reporting and engagement. Holding responsibility for prospect management for the institutes, you will personally manage a portfolio of gift prospects through their cycle of development, ensuring each prospect has a well-maintained engagement plan.

**Strategy, Planning & Decision Making** - Contribute to the development of the strategic and annual operational plans for the development function in line with the directors' and alumni relations and development office directives.

- Previous fundraising experience or experience in building relationships with corporate partners and high net worth individuals.
- Marketing, sales, and customer relations experience.

- Demonstrable experience of hitting targets and meeting financial requirements.
- Curiosity to connect widely and seek to understand, and an openness to adapt your approach and offerings to match our donors’ interests.
- An understanding of the tertiary environment, in the form of a Bachelor’s degree or relevant tertiary qualification/work experience.
