**Solicit major gifts to support AUT's strategy**:
- ** Make huge impact for our students and Aotearoa's future**:
- **Great work-life balance, staff benefits and hybrid work arrangements**:
- ** Permanent appointment (full-time or part-time options available)**
As one of the world's top 100 young universities and New Zealand's newest, Auckland University of Technology (AUT) is a university of opportunity where all students with talent and potential have the chance to succeed. We are a socially driven university with equity and excellence central to our purpose and actions, and we offer a stimulating teaching and research environment with strong connections to government, business, and industry. AUT has more than 26,000 students and over 4,000 staff based primarily at our three Auckland teaching campuses.
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
Our vision and mission make us an attractive proposition to philanthropists wanting to make a difference to the future of New Zealand. This exciting era for fundraising at AUT builds on strong recent foundations as we build a highly valued community of partners to help AUT deliver its mission; now and into the future.
We are seeking a seasoned major gift fundraiser to join our Vice-Chancellor's Office and raise philanthropic funds in support of AUT's strategy and priorities. You'll partner with key internal stakeholders, establish needs and match them with the aspirations of donors. You'll thrive cultivating relationships with donors whose goals align with AUT's strategy and in preparation for the solicitation of major gifts. The impact AUT has is already a strong story and it is poised to deliver even stronger outcomes for Aotearoa. Being outgoing and in front of funders will be second nature for you. We are particularly interested in those with experience and connections in at least one of the following communities/industries:
**Health, Equity or Education**
Key focus areas of the roles include:
- Develop and implement fundraising plans to support AUT's strategy.
- Cultivate and solicit major gifts from donors, trusts and foundations.
- Manage AUT's relationship with existing donors and support faculty-based philanthropic activity.
All systems are in place to help you succeed - our fundraising database and backroom function is well organised and current, with excellent administrative support for research, data management, recording and reporting. The software we use is Raiser's Edge. Your ability to listen, connect, collaborate, communicate and influence will be critical. You will have a strong respect for others coupled with an open and engaging attitude that is flexible to changing requirements. A resolute, robust and positive attitude is essential.
We are deadline-driven and work hard; but also embrace work-life balance. There are options to work on one of our three campuses (in the city centre, in South Auckland or on the North Shore) and to spend some time working from home.
**_ Please see the detailed position description for more information on key job accountabilities._**
**Me pēhea te tuku tono | How to apply**
Along with your CV, please ensure to submit a cover letter which explains why this particular role (and AUT) is of interest, and how your experience aligns with the key experience and attributes we're seeking below:
- At least 5 years' experience soliciting significant gifts and funds from individual donors, or trusts and foundations.
- A proven track record of successfully building external partnerships, matching and attracting donors.
- Strong networks in at least one of the following communities/industries: Health, Equity or Education.
- Applicants are welcome to add further comments they may feel of relevance. It is expected that the appointee will also hold a relevant tertiary qualification.
**Further Information**:
- ** Interviews**: Likely to take place mid-late-July.
- ** Note**:The actual formal title of this position is Fundraiser
