Our partner company is looking for Construction Workers that would be assigned in Christchurch / Wellington / Auckland. This is a company built on its passion for people and service. They supply temporary, permanent and seasonal people to government, defence, education, and other various and diverse industries in New Zealand.

**Position Description**:

- To provide the trade skills, knowledge, experience and competency to undertake construction work to comply with the specified requirements of the contract works in a safe and timely manner, across the Commercial and Residential building Industry.
- To perform all aspect of construction work such as, demolition, carpentry, steel fixing and supporting builders work as assigned, ensuring that all duties are carried out in a safe, competent and timely manner ensuring all duties are carried out efficiently and effectively with a quality and cost-effective services being delivered to our clients.
- Work as part of the team to ensure ‘Best Practices’ principles in all activities are being used to achieve operational excellence and planned targets.
- To deliver a professional standard of customer service and maintain a positive and cooperative attitude towards clients, consultants, management, team members, subcontractors and members of the public and to promote and model the company behaviour competencies and values.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Carry out all construction tasks in a timely manner as directed by the Leading Hand/Foreperson and/or /Site Manager.
- Liaise with Leading Hand/ Foreperson and/or Site Manager on a regular basis regarding work process, daily programming and equipment requirements.
- To perform daily assigned tasks ensuring duties are carried out diligently and within the established timelines and informing them of any delays or other problems encountered.
- Have the ability to interpret plans and specifications.
- Maintain tools in good working order to perform tasks.
- Be proactive in looking at innovated ways to improve productivity and or quality outcomes.
- Be an active member of the site team.
- Always adhere to Company policies and procedures.
- Always carry out all tasks/operations in a tradesman like manner as directed by the Foreman and/or supervisor.
- Maintain and respect personal, Company, and Client equipment, property, and plant.

**Competency Requirements & Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a construction worker
- Hands on experience in working with construction materials
- Excellent understanding of construction techniques techniques and methods of installations and construction
- Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc)
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings
- Willingness to always follow safety guidelines
- Logical and clear thinker
- Basic maths and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Maintain clean and tidy work area. Have a tidy appearance and be a good team member
- Minimum 2 years international experience in carpentry / construction
- Minimum 5 years work experience if you were only locally employed
- Level 2 Certification or equivalent Certificate in any relevant Construction Program

**Salary**: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Christchurch, Canterbury: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- international work: 2 years (required)
- local work: 5 years (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Certification in relevant Construction Program (required)
