**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

We have an important role in supporting the Crown in its relationships with Māori under te Tiriti o Waitangi | the Treaty of Waitangi. The government is committed to improving services and outcomes for Māori and strengthening the Crown's relationships with Māori.

We are responsible for designing community-based systems of care, agreeing health and wellbeing plans, executing those plans, and monitoring outcomes which then feed into the design process. We work in partnership with our Te Whatu Ora and Te Aka Whai Ora colleagues to shape system-wide public health services across the motu.

The Principal Advisor, Monitoring & Reporting sits within the Office of the Regional Wayfinder and is the senior lead within the office that supports the monitoring and reporting requirements for the region, it will work closely with the analytical teams within the national Funding & Investment team to access the right information to enable appropriate and timely reporting for the regional teams. The role will primarily support the internal reporting and monitoring needs of the region.

**This role is based in the Central Region, which is made up of Mid-Central, Whanganui, Capital & Coast Hutt Valley (Wellington Region), Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa. You will need to be based in the region. Your location can be discussed at interview stage.**

- Significant experience in providing quality monitoring and reporting information to enable a business unit to flourish including:

- Ability to translate/experience translating analytical results and findings into a compelling narrative with a strong pre-equity focus.
- Experience writing business requirements documents and technical specifications for each report.
- Experience in written and oral communication skills with the ability to tailor complex messages to a range of audiences.
- Experience in the development and presentation of well-articulated, unambiguous, and robust advice, papers, and reports.
- A proven ability to use data and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, to influence and guide organisational and system-level decision making.
