Join the Markets and International Payments Operations Team to provide leadership and expertise on all matters relating to Sanctions and make your mark on changing and developing functions. As part of the Sanctions tīma (team), you will be an essential part of ensuring we comply with sanctions regulations across the globe.

**Mō te Tūranga | About the Role**

We sat down with one of our Tīma Leader's (who you'd report to), and they let us know the following about the role:
**What are the five day-to-day tasks the person will complete?**
- Screening of payments in and out of BNZ to ensure we meet our compliance obligations to applicable legal and regulatory requirements in relation to sanctions and embargoes
- Initial investigation and due diligence of all payments and payment messages potentially involving a sanctioned entity or country
- Provide recommendations and escalate payments for review to the Senior Sanctions Analyst
- Provide support to the Senior Sanctions Analyst
- Contribute to a positive and engaging culture within the tīma

**What** **do we want you to know before you apply?**

You will be comfortable providing quality mentoring or coaching to tīma members and colleagues. Ideally you will have knowledge of general banking principles, payment industry and sanctions.

- Proven ability to develop, document and maintain policies and procedures, including the design of detailed process flows, support plans and reporting
- Proven ability to manage critical customer situations
- Knows when and how to source and use additional information to make considered decisions
- Articulate communicator, verbal and written, in formal and informal settings
- Strong inter-personal skills
- Demonstrate integrity and maintain principles under all operating circumstances / environments
- Ability to build networks within an organisation, and to use these networks to effectively deliver initiatives and to ensure alignment with what is happening in the business
