ABI Rehabilitation is the specialist provider of neuro-rehabilitation services. This role is located within the Hamilton Service.

As part of growth and meeting continued demand strategy, our Hamilton Neuro-Rehabilitation Service is seeking a motivated and passionate Speech Language Therapist to join our highly skilled and supportive inter-disciplinary team. This role will provide speech language therapy rehabilitation interventions for adult kiritaki/clients with severe traumatic and/or acquired brain injury and work with kiritaki from the post-acute phase through to community re-integration and discharge.

To be successful in this role you may bring the following skills and experience:

- Previous experience in neurorehabilitation is preferred
- Experience working with clients presenting with dysphagia is preferrable, however specialist training in dysphagia is available
- Knowledge, interest, and experience in areas of cognitive-communication, dysphagia, dysarthria, aphasia, augmentative alternative communication devices, and tracheostomy management

You will be the sole SLT within an interdisciplinary team (IDT), with opportunities to liaise with SLTs working across different sectors within ABI Rehabilitation. You must be able to work within an inter-professional team framework that also includes working alongside rehabilitation assistant staff, as well as take initiative to work autonomously. There is a strong focus on teamwork, professional development, quality working groups and supervision opportunities.
