**Job Title**: Senior Analyst - Sector Investment and Bioeconomy

**Location**: Wellington

**Salary range**: $96,073 to $128,570 depending on skills and experience

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the Role
Te Uru Rākau - New Zealand Forest Service are looking for Senior Analysts to help the Sector and Bioeconomy Team to deliver sector investment and economic development initiatives. We seek to improve the productivity, sustainability, and inclusiveness of the sector at all stages of the forestry and wood processing value chain.
- We connect and influence across government, with the forestry and wood processing sector and key stakeholders.
- We constantly work to understand all stages of the value chain and its performance - past, present, and future.
- We advise the Government, sector and MPI on strategy and economic development priorities, and the role of government in enabling greater investment across the value chain.
- We partner to catalyse and super-charge key industry and economic development opportunities.

You'll be joining us at an exciting time as we implement and deliver the Wood Processing Growth Fund, deliver the Forestry and Wood Processing Industry Transformation Plan in partnership with the sector, and stand-up new capabilities and interventions.
We work across MPI, with forestry and wood processing businesses, leaders and industry organisations, Māori partners, central and local government, unions, and community organisations.

Mōu - About You
You will be interested in transforming the forestry and wood processing sector, or driving industry investment and policy interventions, to enable Aotearoa New Zealand's transition to a low carbon, productive and innovative future.
You'll have experience as a professional in economics, finance, science, forestry, engineering or industry good bodies and knowledge of how government works.
- You will be able to think critically about how the sector and relevant policies and programmes are performing.
- You will ideally have experience in investment management, delivering government and industry co-investment partnerships, or administering government funding programmes.
- You will have a strong track record building relationships, influencing, and engaging in a constructive way.
- You'll be able to plan and manage projects and workflows and bring your manager along on the journey.
- You will be able to use processes to deal with ambiguity and deliver results.
