Our Digital Engineering group is responsible for the software development and test functions for our herd management software products and associated back-office systems. The group is also responsible for the Agile practice including scrum mastery, coaching, and supporting a Lean-Agile mind-set and best practices across technology.

**About the Role**

This role provides mentorship and support to our Test Engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, increased efficiency innovation, and also enabling the professional development of the team.

The key focus areas for this role are:

- Coaching and supporting Test Engineers to ensure a high standard is maintained with consistency of process and delivery regarding quality assurance practices
- Collaborate across technical practices and increase automation across the entire pipeline
- Align the test approach with the business/product strategy
- Contributing ideas, initiatives and process improvement within the team, the value stream, as well in the wider Technology team
- Conducting post PI analysis to identify and foster a culture of a continuous improvement in testing processes
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technology in the Software Testing space

**About You**

We're looking for someone who understands that testing is more than just a search for defects, and who can drive the adoption of best practice innovative test tooling. Key to the success of this role will be your ability to develop a deep understanding of LIC System roadmaps, systems, products and environments to establish enterprise-wide thinking, ensuring conformity and alignment.

You'll also being to the role:

- Around 5yrs QA experience
- A relevant tertiary qualification. Certification in QA - ISTQB or similar would be advantageous
- Good leadership skills and ability to mentor Testers in the team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in any programming language to write or execute automation code - Java, JavaScript, C#
- Proven experience of working with API testing and tools-Postman or ReadyAPI
- Around 3 + years experience in automation experience in any open-source tools/frameworks including BDD tools for UI, Middleware, or mobile automation
- Experience in setting up Automation framework from scratch and hooking up with CI/CD tools
- Experience in working with any Test Management tools
- Atlassian, Xray, Test Rail or similar
- Understanding of SQL and working experience with databases
- Experience in Performance, Security testing with tools like JMeter, Blaze meter, Burp suite, Zap
- Experienced in Test Case writing and execution
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum Methodology
