**About the Digital Engineering Group**

Our Digital Engineering group is responsible for the software development and testing functions of our herd management software products and associated back-office systems. The group also leads our Agile practice, including scrum mastery, coaching, and supporting a Lean-Agile mindset and best practices across technology.

**About the Role**

This role provides mentorship and support to our Test Engineers, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, increased efficiency, innovation, and enabling the professional development of the team.

Key Focus Areas:

- Coaching and supporting Test Engineers to ensure a high standard and consistency in quality assurance practices.
- Collaborating across technical practices to increase automation across the entire pipeline.
- Aligning the test approach with the business/product strategy.
- Contributing ideas, initiatives, and process improvements within the team, the value stream, and the wider Technology team.
- Conducting post-PI analysis to identify and foster a culture of continuous improvement in testing processes.
- Staying abreast of industry trends and emerging technology in the Software Testing space.

**About You**

We seek someone who understands that testing is more than just a search for defects and can drive the adoption of best practice innovative test tooling. Key to your success in this role will be your ability to develop a deep understanding of LIC system roadmaps, systems, products, and environments to establish enterprise-wide thinking, ensuring conformity and alignment.

You 'll also bring to the role:

- 5 years or more of QA experience
- A relevant tertiary qualification, certification in QA, such as ISTQB or similar, would be advantageous.
- Strong advocate of Quality within the team with the ability to mentor other Test Engineers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in one or more programming languages to write or execute automation code (Java, JavaScript, C#).
- Proven experience in working with API testing and tools such as Postman or ReadyAPI.
- Around 3+ years of hands-on experience in automation using any open-source tools/frameworks, including BDD tools for UI, Middleware, or mobile automation.
- Experience in setting up test automation frameworks from scratch and integrating with CI/CD tools.
- Understanding of cloud and DevOps technologies
- Experience working with Test Management tools such as Atlassian, Xray, Test Rail, or similar.
- Understanding of SQL and experience of working with databases.
- Experience in Non-functional testing with tools like JMeter, Blaze Meter, Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP or similar.
- Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
