**The opportunity**

Are you a passionate and expert facilitator in Tapasā a Cultural competencies framework for teachers of Pacific learners? Are you well recognised in Pacific education and our Pacific communities? Then come and join our organization, as a full-time 1 year fixed term** **Facilitator. You will join us on our journey in Pacific-led Education. Ideally you will be an experienced facilitator or teacher in the New Zealand education sector with **early learning experience**, relevant teaching accreditation and current certification. The role will be based in Auckland and will be active in the Auckland and Northland regions.

As this position supports Pasifika, you will have knowledge and experience of Pasifika learners, families and communities. Be experienced with the Tapasā framework, with a 'trusted educator' status in the Pasifika education community and/or academic environment. Competency or familiarity with one or more Pasifika languages is desirable.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Deliver workshops in-person and online as part of ongoing professional development programmes.
- Lead or facilitate the effective Tapasā professional learning and development (PLD) initiatives in schools.
- Train, coach and mentor teachers, principals and school communities within specified contract outcomes.
- Develop effective pedagogy with teachers in school settings.
- Support the Programme Manager in the delivery of specific delegated promotion, marketing, and engagement activities.
- Assist with the development of online learning using an LMS.
- Report progress and suggestions for improvements to the Programme Manager.
- Contribute evidence to programme reports to the Ministry of Education.

**Your skills and experience**:
It is essential for you to hold:

- Tapasā experience, sector knowledge and expertise.
- Knowledge and experience with Pasifika cultural capabilities, and Pasifika languages.
- Understanding of the progressive journey of Pasifika medium education that early childhood sector provides.
- Early Learning experiences to draw on with Pasifika learners.
- Understanding of effective pedagogical strategies that are culturally sustaining, and evidence based.
- Knowledge of strategies to accelerate student achievement.
