As the Destination Management Leader, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing strategies that ensure Auckland remains a premier destination for visitors.

**Your key responsibilities will include**:
Destination Management
- Lead the development and implementation of localised Destination Management Plans for Auckland.
- Ensure the visitor economy becomes carbon neutral.
- Strategic Contacts: Act as a key tourism contact for Destination AKL 2035.

Product Development
- Execute a product development strategy aligned with our destination strategies.
- Develop new and existing visitor experiences, focusing on sustainability and regenerative tourism.
- Provide advice and expertise to local visitor businesses and assist new businesses in starting visitor experiences.
- Oversee specific development projects and stay current with visitor product trends and insights.
- Collaborate with the Māori tourism team to develop Māori tourism products.

Sustainability
- Implement key actions from "Auckland's Visitor Economy - Towards a Low-Carbon Future."
- Ensure sustainability is a core component of all destination management planning.
- Develop programmes to build industry capability for a low-carbon future.

Industry Management
- Serve as a key contact for local boards, cluster groups, and regional tourism forums.
- Keep local cluster groups informed and updated on Tataki Auckland Unlimited activities.
- Develop and coordinate workshops to enhance the wider visitor industry's capabilities.
- Regularly communicate insights and relevant content with the wider tourism team and stakeholder groups.

Sector Management
- Manage the cruise sector to ensure Auckland delivers a world-class experience for cruise passengers.
- Assist in product development specific to the cruise sector and collaborate with Cruise NZ.
- Act as the main contact for consultations on activities like freedom camping, regional parks planning, and cycle trail activities.
- Lead sector-based innovation and investment projects.

Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with government and RTOs.
- Work closely with the Economic Development team. Ensure Māori outcomes are embedded in all plans.
