Quality Technician

Walter & Wild is a New Zealand Food Manufacturing company with a substantial portfolio of iconic brands including Hubbards, I Love Food Co., Aunt Betty’s, Hansells, Vitafresh, Greggs, Alfa One, Movenpick (NZ and AU), Killinchy Gold, NZ Natural, Zilch and Chateau.

We currently have a great opportunity for a full-time, permanent Quality Technician to join our Quality Assurance Team in Mangere, Auckland. This role will be reporting to the QA Manager and you will be responsible for factory inspections, product sampling & testing and quality documents to ensure food safety and quality standards are being maintained.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to**:

- Ensure that all products manufactured comply with specified food safety and quality standards.
- Monitoring incoming raw materials to ensure they conform to specifications.
- Supporting the Quality Management System through the internal and external audit processes.
- Supporting the quality and food safety training for the business's wider team.
- Assisting with the implementation and maintenance of all QA systems including (but not limited to) internal audits, pest control programme, process control, traceability, GMP, calibration, quality investigations, non-conformance and corrective actions.
- Supporting the HACCP team to ensure the hazards analysis and CCPs for the lines are met.

**To be successful in this role, you will have the following skills, knowledge and experience**:

- Must have at least 2 years of quality assurance experience in food manufacturing and the ability to accept additional responsibilities within their current roles.
- Qualification and/or relevant experience in Food Science, Science or similar preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving capability.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- A Team player, you are known for your honesty, integrity, and communication skills as well as your ability to successfully juggle multiple priorities.
- Continuously seeks to improve systems and procedures, balancing efficiency with a quality and safety focus and attention to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP Standards).
