Charta Packaging Limited specialise in manufacturing high quality corrugated cardboard packaging and premium printing. Charta Packaging is a division of Visy, who are a global leader in sustainable packaging and resource recovery. Based in modern premises in East Tamaki, Highbrook,Charta Packaging has some of the latest state of the art machinery, unique to New Zealand

We are currently looking for a Shift Manager to join our team based in Highbrook, Auckland. This is a permanent position working 47.5 hours per week 4pm to 2.30am, Monday to Friday. Reporting to the operations manager you will lead one of our production teams. You will be responsible for the training, development & performance management of your team. Responsible for the Health, Safety, and wellbeing of all shift employees, the position will focus on developing efficient work methods, and collaborating with employees to increase productivity while maintaining a strong safety record. Further to this key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Oversee the daily operations, working with designated shift employees to achieve budgeted production figures.
- Provide and improve upon, a safe working environment for all employees.
- Develop improvement processes and ensure established processes are maintained to meet compliance and quality targets.
- Drive and improve operational performance (eg. quality, waste and output)
- Maintain schedule of production to ensure productivity goals are attained on shift.
- Drive and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

**What you will bring to the team**:
As a Shift Manager, you love to lead by example and are outcome oriented with a 'can do' attitude. Your flexible and enthusiastic approach will ensure strong leadership and motivation. You enjoy being hands on, thrive under pressure, and work with your team to find solutions to the day-to-day challenges, whilst ensuring safety and customer service is never compromised. You will have;
- Minimum 10 years’ experience as a Production Supervisor/Manager (preferably within the FMCG, Manufacturing or Packaging industries). Corrugated cardboard industry knowledge is highly desirable.
- Leadership & people management experience.
- Tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP (advantageous)
- Demonstrated ability in meeting individual and team productivity targets.
- Analytical, Process and Continuous Improvement focused.
- You have a strong desire and fast aptitude to learn about the corrugated box manufacturing process.
- Excellent communication skills, great work ethic and motivation to get the job done
