Pact is looking for a passionate Mental Health Clinician to join our team in Wellington. This is a permanent position, 40 hours per week. We are looking for someone with a passion to support rangatahi experiencing mild to moderate mental health and substance use issues. This role is mainly based at a newly established youth residential service in Upper Hutt, with opportunity to extend into community case work with our Youth Community AoD Service across the Wellington region.
**About Us**
Pact is a major provider of community-based mental health and addictions services across Southland, Otago, West Coast and the Lower North Island. The Pact Youth Services are known to go the extra mile in supporting young people (aged 10-24) to achieve their goals.
Our Youth AoD Service provides 1:1 counselling or group sessions in schools, community centres and services or our office in Lower Hutt. We also deliver a mentoring service in which our team journey alongside rangatahi to support them in setting and achieving their goals.
**The Role**
We are seeking a motivated and innovative registered health professional to join our Central Region youth team, providing assessment and support to those who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues and/or co-existing alcohol and drug related issues. This role is mainly based at a new youth residential service in Upper Hutt for young people with a dual diagnosis of both intellectual disability and mental health. Youll provide mental health support for the young people in the service focussed on growing their resilience and independence, conduct mental health assessments and provide clinical support to our support workers.
There is the opportunity to also extend into the community as part of our Youth AoD Serivce, providing treatment for the rangatahi individually and in a group setting.
Your main responsibilities will include providing client support, making clinical recommendations, and assisting with risk and referral management. You will also coordinate care and treatment plans with secondary services and other external stakeholders. Effective time management skills and the ability to prioritise are essential.
You will need to have excellent communication and networking skills and be able to build and sustain working relationships with tangata whaiora, whanau, staff and external agencies.
