Wellington City, New Zealand Whakarongorau Aotearoa New Zealand Telehealth Services Full time

**Company Description**:
**To tatou tikanga | Our culture**

Our staff are passionate people, each driven to contribute to better health and wellbeing outcomes, with a focus on Māori, Pasifika and Disability populations. We are focused on hiring kaimahi who live and work in the communities they serve.

Whakarongorau Aotearoa is committed to understanding and improving mana taurite (equal status). This starts with the understanding of self and how we, as health and wellbeing professionals, think and behave each minute of each day to serve the needs for Aotearoa.

**Ko wai hoki | About us**

Whakarongorau Aotearoa (Whakarongorau), a social enterprise, is a virtual health and social services organisation with a proven record of connecting people seamlessly with care when they need it.

Whakarongorau has the privilege of running free to the public, digital health, mental health, and social services for the people of Aotearoa. We want to give everyone in Aotearoa the opportunity for wellness. We focus on the connected world of digital care, where we can help join all the dots, and select the right services, advice, support and help for the right need.

We use our healthy imagination to solve big problems by understanding the tiny ways that people are blocked from getting the care they deserve. Our imagination comes from our people and our partners and their drive to never give up.

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? Do you believe that cultural understanding can bridge gaps and drive meaningful change? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you

At Whakarongorau Aotearoa, we understand the power of strong community connections. We've witnessed firsthand how a deep appreciation for cultural practices enhances engagement and outcomes for our service users. With over 3000 New Zealanders diagnosed with bowel cancer annually, and more than 1200 losing their lives to it, we're on a mission to transform these statistics.

Our National Bowel Screening Programme is a beacon of hope, aiming to save lives by identifying bowel cancer in its early stages when treatment can be most effective. But it's not just about diagnosis - we're committed to ensuring that all segments of the population have equal access to these life-saving initiatives.

**Mō tēnei tūranga** - About the role

In this pivotal role as Service Coordinator, you'll directly engage with community members who've been invited by the Ministry of Health to participate in our Bowel Screening Programme. Your friendly demeanour and cultural sensitivity will inspire and support their involvement.

**Your day-to-day will be diverse and rewarding**:

- Reach out to community members, guiding them through the process of completing a Bowel Screening kit
- Be the welcoming voice on the other end of the line, fielding incoming calls, answering questions, and motivating participation
- Seamlessly manage administrative tasks that uphold the accuracy and quality of our information system

**Why You'll Love Working with Us**:

- Meaningful Impact: Your work directly contributes to saving lives and promoting equity in healthcare
- Cultural Connection: Embrace the opportunity to make a difference through cultural understanding
- Supportive Environment: Join a team of passionate individuals who value collaboration and growth
- Flexible Schedule: Work Monday to Friday, with hours from 8 am to 6 pm on a rostered basis, giving you a healthy work-life balance
- Central Location: Based in our vibrant Wellington Centre, you'll be at the heart of the action

**Qualifications**:
**Pehea koe | About you**
- Proven ability to follow procedures and processes
- Attention to detail, able to write clearly and concisely
- Passion for customer service excellence
- Positive attitude and sense of humour
- Quick and alert mind, with the ability to adapt
- A flexible approach and the ability to multitask
- Bring energy and resiliency to your work
- An understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi and a commitment to increasing equity for Māori Tangata Whai Ora

**Additional Information**:

- Mahia te mea tika / Do the right thing
