**Job Description**:
Our Civil Infrastructure team is looking to appoint a Design Lead on a number of sizeable projects we are delivering across New Zealand. This role will be responsible for reviewing technical quality of engineering and design tasks while supporting the Programme Manager to ensure on time and budget project delivery. Working closely with the wider team and managing relationships is a key element of this role. In this role, you will assume responsibility for monitoring the outcomes of the programme with specific oversight over the technical engineering inputs.
- Management of Engineering and Design team
- Oversight of the overall management of resources required for specialist design and engineering inputs;
- Coordinate engineering, utilities, drawing, mapping and cost estimation resources for timely and effective programme delivery;
- Verification of overall engineering and design processes and outputs;
- Manage engineering/design processes and deliverables to track and report timeliness of delivery, scope and budget
- Work collaboratively with Technical leads and Wider Programme Team;
- Perform active risk management to minimise engineering and assessment risks;
- Issue regular reports on the engineering team to the Lead Engineering Advisor;
- Hold weekly meetings with the engineering team;
- Collection and reporting on lessons learned throughout the programme lifecycle;
**About You**
- Proven minimum 10 years’ experience
- Ability to manage resources across multiple work streams;
- Experience delivering projects with a high level of public visibility and interest;
- Experience bringing together a cohesive team on complex projects
- Strong understanding of the business case and integrated Transport Assessment processes, and approvals processes
**Qualifications**:
- Civil Engineering degree
- CPEng Preferable
