As a Senior or Principal Substation Design Engineer within our highly successful national Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team, you will be involved in the primary design of HV transmission and distribution projects throughout the Australia and NZ (ANZ) region.

Working within an engaging team of T&D experts in a supportive environment, you will contribute to the design of some of ANZ's critical electrical infrastructure that will ultimately improve the reliability and quality of supply to our communities.

**What will a day in this role will look like**:

- Leading the concept and detailed design of HV substation primary systems, HV cable systems and earthing systems for NZ and Australian clients
- Managing a range of medium - large scale projects and interfacing with clients on new opportunities
- Compiling budget estimates, pricing schedules and providing technical expertise to clients in accordance with project time, quality and cost objectives
- Drafting design reports and assisting with the preparation of proposals
- Attending site visits and carrying out inspections and testing as required eg. soil resistivity testing

**Qualifications**:
**What are we looking for from you?**
- University degree - BE Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in transmission and distribution substation design
- Knowledge of the Transmission and Distribution industry in New Zealand. Design experience with NZ and/or Australian electrical utilities will be highly favoured
- Site experience/experience in projects being constructed and commissioned
- Experience in suitable software packages
- Excellent organisation and communication skills
