Aroturuki Tamariki, the Independent Children's Monitor, is part of the oversight system monitoring Oranga Tamariki and its interface with other government agencies. We provide insights that will drive continuous improvement and improve outcomes for tamariki (children) and rangatahi (young people), particularly tamariki Māori.
The Kaiarataki Tikanga - Principal Advisor, Practice Support and Improvement is part of the Performance, Policy and Practice team and is focused on strengthening monitoring practice across the monitoring teams and supporting learning and development across the organisation. They facilitate professional practice workshops and group training and identify, engage, and coordinate external training providers to support the organisation's professional development programme, including cultural development and staff wellbeing.
The Kaiarataki Tikanga works closely with the Chief Monitor and Regional Managers to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement.

**We are looking for**:

- Strong facilitation and training delivery skills
- Knowledge of appreciative enquiry and a strengths-based approach
- Experience in supporting reflection and debriefing processes
- Strategic thinking without losing sight of day-to-day deliverables
- Strong relationship skills, open style, and a positive outlook.

The salary range for this role is $117,349 -146,034 and will be appointed based on skills and experience.
