Auckland City, New Zealand OSHO Full time

**About Us**

Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real difference in your next role?

Why? As a society, we need to decarbonise and accelerate the transition to alternative energy sources. Existing solutions are expensive and disparate, with limited functionality.

Osho is driven by purpose, real innovation, and ambition. We have a talented team spread across New Zealand, with a creative space by the beach in Takapuna, and a Design Lab in Christchurch where our physical products come to life.

We closed a $12m capital raise in 2021, so we're well funded and ready to grow. Our team is smart, curious and has some big goals - so if you’re interested in joining a fast-growing and startup that is design-led and puts people at its core, then we’d love to hear from you

This is your chance to join something special early, and contribute to making a very real impact.

We're also currently in stealth mode, so check out our website and we'll share more with you during the recruitment process

**The Role**

The goal of this role is to ensure the operations of the entire business are set up and run effectively so that we can collectively deliver to our milestones. This means being focused on the operational details necessary for success today. In other words, you will have your head down focusing on the ‘now’, providing a natural counterpart to our CEO who will be focused on the future.

As our COO, you will support all areas of the business to ensure our teams are cranking and can deliver, while also ensuring our operational readiness to successfully deliver our launch programs. You will be adept at recognising where the greatest risks to the business lie, and how we can best use our capital to alleviate these risks.

Some of your accountabilities will be to:

- Lead the execution of strategies developed by the leadership team, to which you will belong
- Work with People Experience and the leadership team to optimise the reporting lines and org structure of the company as we go through extreme growth
- Translate and adapt strategic plans to achieve successful delivery. This includes making well-reasoned trade-offs between different courses of action that progress the business and enhance performance
- Track and hold each department accountable for achieving their quarterly OKRs
- Orchestrate company progress towards our objectives
- Be accountable for delivering results on a day-to-day, quarter-to-quarter basis
- Put out fires that occur at the fault lines of departments that must work together
- Stand up and run any department for which a department head has not yet been hired
- Ensure operational alignment between teams
- Ensure integrated delivery across internal and external teams
- Identify optimisations and standardise internal operations to improve delivery synchronisation
- Be a trusted advisor to the CEO when it comes to opportunity seeking and value creation
- Distil business strategy at the top level and recognise a pathway to making that successful. Many different issues will crop up on the road to operationalising our strategy, and you will be adept at identifying risks and opportunities and devising ways in which we should course correct to achieve our milestones faster and more effectively

**What does success look like in this role?**
- The executive team have full trust in you to deliver
- You provide sound advice to the CEO and executives on the best course of action to pursue based on learnings and new info gathered as we iterate and grow
- The company is highly effective from an operational perspective, evidenced by things like reduced turnaround on delivery times, increased process efficiencies, the implementation of new technologies that drive effectiveness and competitive advantage etc.

**About You**

We think you’ll be a great fit for this role if you:

- Have a refined commercial mind that enables you to make risk trade-offs as operational problems naturally emerge
- Are skilled at thinking laterally across everything that goes on within a business
- Have excellent judgement and are confident advising senior executives on what you deem to be the best course(s) of action
- Excel at translating strategic vision into execution at a company-wide level
- Are a strong finisher who can drive us to seamless execution, ensuring all bases are covered and teams are glued together to deliver
- Can make real-time strategic trade offs between critical business decisions
- Have the ability to cross-translate how capital should be assigned across the company. This enables us to make fast yet well-reasoned decisions that will help us to achieve milestones quicker and therefore make our runway last longer
- Have your finger on the pulse of new trends and technologies, and how these can be integrated into the business to further optimise our collective performance
- Have a proven track record of coaching and coordinating other leaders
- Can build rapport and trust with key stakeholders, both
