**Te tĪma - The team**:
As a Senior Librarian, you'll become an essential member of our Collections and Information team. We take pride in offering reliable services to Members of Parliament, parliamentary staff, agencies, and the public.

**The Collections team focuses on two primary functions**:

- developing, administering, and providing access to the Parliamentary Library's physical and digital collections, as well as the systems to support them
- ensuring the Parliamentary Service and the Office of the Clerk have the tools to manage their information effectively, complying with regulations and standards and caring for our information as a taonga for New Zealand.

**Mō te tūnga - About the role**:
The Senior Librarian plays a vital role in ensuring our collections remain fit-for-purpose and accessible to all. With your technical expertise, you will help lead the way in maintaining our electronic and physical collections, while managing our systems to ensure seamless access. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to support and mentor other team members in their mahi.
You'll be developing policies and processes to support the effective selection, acquisition, and access to the collections, while fostering a customer-centric ethos and providing excellent service. Working with the Collections and Information Manager and the other Senior Librarian, you'll build your leadership and coaching skills, helping to build a supportive and collaborative environment and fostering knowledge and expertise.

**Tō kete - What you will bring to the role**:

- Previous experience working with library collections
- An ability to supervise and direct the work of colleagues in the team
- Strong technical knowledge about cataloguing using MARC
- Previous experience managing a library management system, particularly Koha

The appointing salary range for this role is $79,517 to $87,793 per annum. Appointments will be based on skills and experience (please note, the full salary range extends beyond this to allow for tenure progression).
