Neptune Pacific Direct Line (NPDL) is experiencing a period of significant transformation. Formed in 2020, Neptune Pacific Line acquired Pacific Direct Line, bringing together two of the South Pacific’s top shipping and logistics companies to support the full supply chain of our customers in the region. NPDL is part of The Wonderful Company headquartered in the USA (including Fiji Water).
NPDL operates 9 containerships, moving +240k TEU between AU, NZ and the Pacific Islands, as well as the USA. We have strong partnerships with other shipping line, moving cargo across 25 customer destinations in 16 countries.
Reporting to the Group Operations & Planning Manager, we're on the hunt for an Operations Performance Analyst who will be the driving force behind our operational success You'll play a pivotal role in supporting our Port Operations, Scheduling, Vessel Planning, and Dangerous Goods (DG) teams, ensuring everything runs like a well-oiled machine. You'll take the lead in maintaining and optimizing vessel schedules, both internally and externally, keeping our systems up-to-date and stepping in to provide coverage when needed.
Your mission? To fuel our performance and cost-saving initiatives by delivering insightful KPI reports, dynamic performance dashboards, and more. You'll be the analytical powerhouse behind our process improvements, bridging the gap between teams and enhancing the integration of the systems we rely on. **What you will be doing**:
**Scheduling**:
- ** Be the Scheduling System Specialist**: Assist in crafting both internal and external vessel schedules for our customers, ensuring every update is executed with precision and speed.
- ** Support the team**: Step in as the scheduling expert whenever needed, working with our vessels and agents and keeping everything on track.
- ** Boost Performance**: Create and deliver schedule reliability reports and performance KPIs to track we are keeping our cargo delivery promises and enhance our value to our customers.
- ** Troubleshoot Like a Pro**: Dive into analytical challenges related to schedule deviations, time at port, fuel consumption, and more, solving problems with finesse.
**Dangerous Goods (DG)**:
- ** Safety First**: Partner with the DG team to define KPIs and controls that elevate process safety and minimize risks.
- ** Drive Innovation**: Work closely with the DG team to enhance reporting, uncover opportunities for system improvements, and create visually compelling data presentations and graphs that captivate and inform.
- ** Educate and Empower**: Assist in ongoing training and educational initiatives across NPDL, ensuring our teams are always ahead of the curve.
**Port Operations**:
- ** Data Guardian**: Assist the Port Operations team in maintaining the rates database with precision, ensuring key figures are always accurate and up-to-date. You'll also introduce innovative ways to streamline cost processes and leverage data for maximum efficiency.
- ** Validate & Optimize**: Lead the charge in monthly and quarterly cost validation, comparing actual spend against key figures to drive continuous accuracy.
- ** Strategic Analysis**: Provide sharp financial analysis on suppliers, equipping the team with clear insights for contract negotiations and rate reviews.
**Vessel Planning**:
- ** Maximize Efficiency**: Work with the Vessel Planning team to define KPIs and controls that enhance vessel utilization and boost overall efficiencies.
- ** Performance Reporting**: Lead vessel utilization performance reporting, aligning with agreed-upon empty/full allocations to optimize every voyage.
**Qualifications** What you will bring to the table**:
- ** Education**: A diploma or degree in supply chain or business is a plus but not a dealbreaker—we value experience and passion just as much
- ** Experience**: Bring at least 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role. Shipping experience? That's a bonus we’ll definitely appreciate
